In the year 2147, the Nexus—a vast AI-powered system controlling interstellar governance and communication—suffers a catastrophic disruption. Entire colonies go silent. Governments panic. The last transmission from Epsilon Prime, a major colony, is an automated distress call repeating a single phrase:

Ex-commander Elias Voss is recruited to lead an investigation team alongside Nova Carter, a rebellious hacker, and Dr. Ren Ishikawa, an AI scientist.
